Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains Swami Select’ policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information through our services. “Personal Information” means information that would allow a party to contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, or email address.

As a general matter, Swami Select services are designed to be open and easily accessible by anyone in the world.  This policy is concerned with the Personal Information that we might receive through your use of the Swami Select services.  To further understand the nature of Swami Select, we urge you to also read our Terms of Service.

1. Information Swami Select Collects

Information Collected From Users.  We collect some basic information when you use the Swami Select services, depending on the nature of your use of the services. Our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) may collect information (“Log Data”) indirectly and automatically (through, for example, the use of your “IP address”) about your activities while visiting the site, including the web pages you view and the times you view them, information about the browser you are using, your IP address, the referring domain, and search terms use. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements, may also be included in Log Data.  We do not use personally identifiable information with respect to such Log Data, nor do we share those files except as may be permitted herein.

We do not link browsing information to the Personal Information you submit to us; we use this browsing information to personalize aspects of your search experience and for internal purposes such as to help understand how the site is being used and to improve it, and for systems administration purposes.

Cookies. We may use “cookies” to collect additional website usage data and to improve our services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard disk. Swami Select may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our services, and to improve our services.  For example, if you register a Swami Select account through Facebook or Twitter, those sites use a shared cookie that Swami Select also adopts to record your registration information. Further, If you do a search of pick a favorite, we set a cookie. That is specific to you if you log in with that identity, but is specific to your browser if you are not logged in.

You can instruct your browser, by editing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit; however, you may not have full use of some of the services if you block all Swami Select cookies.

Third Party Cookies.  In addition to the shared Facebook / Instagram cookie noted above, Swami Select may use Google to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to the Swami Select website. Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie in the ads served on the websites of its partners, such as websites displaying AdSense ads or participating in Google certified ad networks. When users visit a partner’s website and either view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the publisher’s site(s) and across the web. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting Google’s advertising opt-out page.  Swami Select may also use third-party advertising companies other than Google to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Swami Select will amend this Privacy Policy to identify such third party vendors. You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

2. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Disclosure of Personal Information. Although we may disclose aggregated information about the use of our site, that information does not contain Personal Information. We do not disclose Personal Information to third parties, except as noted below. Under certain circumstances, however, we could be legally obligated to disclose information to the government or other third parties and if Swami Select becomes part of another organization, that organization will possess the Personal Information collected by Swami Select and it will assume the rights and obligations regarding your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Service Providers. We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to us. We may share your Personal Information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these functions and provide such services, and only pursuant to obligations mirroring the protections of this privacy policy.

Disclosure to Comply with Law or Prevent Harm. We may disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Swami Select’s rights or property.

Business Transfers. In the event that Swami Select is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this privacy policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.

Non-Private or Non-Personal Information. Swami Select may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as the number of users who clicked on a particular link.

Security. Swami Select has implemented and follows industry standard measures to protect against unauthorized access to and unlawful interception or processing of Personal Information. However, no internet site can fully eliminate security risks.

3. Children

Our services are not directed to people under 21. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy @ swamiselect (dot) com. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 21. If we become aware that an individual under 21 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the individual’s account.

4. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at http://swamiselect.com/privacy. We may amend this policy at any time by the amended policy on our site. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
