February is often one of the nicest months in Northern California. This year followed suit for the first part of the month, as the sun was warm and trees started to show small blossoms. Spring was in the air after such a wet December and January. The landscape turned green before our eyes and the rushing creeks could be heard from a mile away.
|
|
|
|
In mid-month we took a beautiful drive south to Los Angeles, past fields of yellow wildflowers and orchards with trees covered in delicate pink blooms. As we develop a relationship with the southern part of our state, we continue to discover real treasures. NorCal has an innate rivalry with SoCal, I admit it, yet it feels great to prove that wrong. Each is equally amazing!

Our first stop was with our old pals at LAPCG in West Hollywood, one of the oldest dispensaries in the state, established in 2004. They have a true appreciation of fine sungrown flowers and are raising the consciousness of Los Angeles! Several of the SoCal Ganjier students and graduates stopped by to visit us at the demo too.

The next stop was the fantastic Sespe Creek Collective in Ojai, a sweet valley just north of LA nestled in the stunning Topatopa Mountains. They also understand the benefits of pure craft cannabis and have a super knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand. The vibe at Sespe Creek is as pure as the flowers they feature - and they have a great selection. Stay tuned! We met up with our old pal and expert indoor grower Kyle Kushman while in LA and shot a new segment for Smokin' with Swami. The talented and fun Matt and Parker (aka "Young Swami") from Homegrown Seed Co. shot the segment so it's bound to be great!

We arrived home to the hills of Mendocino County just in time to batten down the hatches - a big storm was coming! Suddenly spring reversed to full-on winter and the snow kept falling - over 22" has blanketed our meadow in soft white.
|
|
|
|
|
Silence descended as we became enveloped in a winter wonderland. As I write this, we remain snowed in - but no complaints, we have a big pantry, lots of wood for the stove, plenty of weed and Tipu Puppy to keep us warm! Soon enough it will really be spring, so for now we are enjoying this silent shelter of peace.
