"All things seem possible in May" they say... and certainly this May was full of wonderful blessings.

It began with a bang at the first annual Mendo Cup which Nikki produced along with the Mendocino Producers Guild and an amazing crew of Volunteers, Sponsors, Judges and, of course, Farmers!

Day One was when 12 extremely accomplished (and very high) Judges convened to choose the top 5 winners out of 34 entries of pure Mendocino organically sungrown and licensed flowers.
|
|
It took about 8 hours of true dedication but they did it!
|
|
|
|
The next day the big event was held at the Grange Hall in Willits. About 420 people gathered to meet the farmers and sample their flowers in the outside smoking lounge, visit the many informational, historical and crafts booths, plus enjoy the true "stoner food" delights offered by Chef Dan.

|
|
|
Awards were announced at just about 4:20pm when Nikki and Swami proudly read the poetic profiles and handed trophies to the top 5 winners, all Mendocino OG Growers with incredible skill and love of the plant.
|
|
|
The party resumed until almost dark when the smoke finally settled.
|
A big congratulations and all of our respect goes out to all the farms who participated in the first Mendo Cup. A special shout out to Sweet Sisters Family Farm for their well-earned 1st Place win!

Back at the ranch, it was time to tend our personal cannabis starts, transplant them to larger pots, and get some veggies and ornamental flowers into the ground as well. As the long cold winter fades and summer sun approaches, flowers bloom and the land comes to life.
|
|
|
|
Spring cleaning has ensued as we prepare for the coming hot and dry season, clearing out the cobwebs, mowing the meadow and more.
|
|
|
|
The amazing Swami Chaitanya turned 82 last week and is still working, and playing, with vim and vigor. Perhaps his daily morning meditations are part of his secret, his healthy diet and lots of exercise, the love of and for his dear family and friends, and living in the nurturing lap of Mother Nature.
|
|
|
Whatever it is, it works!
|
|
|
|
All focus is now on ranch life so no Club Swami events will be held this summer in San Francisco. However, we are contemplating a daytime picnic gathering here at Turtle Creek Ranch in July, if members are interested.
|
|
|
|
