June has been a month to literally spring into summer! While temperatures were lower than normal, and we even had some rainy days, by month's end the heat is starting to rise and summer is in the air. Everything is behind at the ranch due to the late winter and all the snow we had this past year. The forest is littered with fallen branches from winter storms and the cannabis gardens took extra care to prepare them for the season.

The farmers - including Swami, of course, have been busy laying irrigation water lines and amending the soil with locally sourced organic ingredients, such as alpaca 💩, wood chips, worm castings and compost. They are also preparing compost teas for soil drenching and fermentations of locally foraged herbs and grasses for foliar sprays. After so much preparation, the baby girls were finally placed gently into the ground.

The Mendocino Craft Farmers Auction was also a huge HIGHlight in June! After months of work to gather fantastic auction items and sponsors, and arranging for the special event, it was a resounding and heartwarming success. We raised several thousand dollars for the two local charities we chose to donate to this year: The Mendocino Cancer Resource Centers and the Land Trust of Mendocino. We also raised consciousness about who we are, fine craft farmers who want to give back to our community while sharing some of our Private Reserve from personal gardens with fortunate guests. We'll do it again next year, so stay tuned!

It was another amazing gathering of Club Swami members this past week at a mid-century modern home perched on the side of Twin Peaks in San Francisco, nestled in an old eucalyptus forest.
|
|
|
|
This most recent allocation - Round Three for our Founding Members - featured our craft batch of Orange Turbo flowers matched up with the tastebud-tingling Orange Turbo hashish made with extra love and care by Frenchy Cannoli's protegé Cherry Blossom Belle and her outstanding and award-winning team at Heritage Mendocino.

About 25 members and friends gathered to share smokes and jokes and music and snacks, plus stories about the Orange Turbo flowers and hashish which were this round's special offering. A special surprise for us all was when one Club Swami member brought along his Shaman teacher and friend from the Amazon who happened to be visiting along with some of his musicians - it was magical to hear them perform while wisps of San Francisco fog drifted through the eucalyptus trees.

Swami and Nikki were honored to once again be named official ambassadors for the 2023 California State Fair Cannabis Awards! We'll also be hosting the Visit Mendocino booth on Saturday 7/22 all day in the Cannabis Hall with info about Swami Select as well and regenerative craft farming - and giving these offerings on the stage:

Last year’s fair drew over 650,000 (!!!) visitors and a significant number of them strolled through the cannabis exhibits which were packed with historical and current information and learning opportunities, and, of course, with award winners.
