As we slide into summer, the green around us gets greener and the sun grows warmer every day. One could argue that this is the best time of year, with the creeks and the lake full of water and the wildflowers coming up everywhere. The garden beckons, as do fun events with the Swami clan!
Our friend and neighbor Casey O'Neill has planted some healthy veggies in some of the mounds in the garden which grew cannabis before. The living soil is regeneratively rich and the veggie starts are super happy.

Meanwhile, we have been tending our few cannabis plants, which we started from seeds for our personal crop, and they are shooting right up. Soon they will go into larger pots and eventually directly into the ground for the full season. It's a very small crop this year compared to when we were licensed cultivators, but that means each plant will get even more love and attention.

Be sure to come to our Club Swami events where Swami will gladly share with you the flowers from our garden!

Our first Club Swami event in the new format was held mid-month in San Francisco and was a huge success. Club members gathered at Foreign Lens, a very groovy spot in the heart of North Beach, for an evening filled with food, drinks, music, dancing, and of course lots of joints.

The Club community is very special - a place where you can be free to express yourself while having a lot of fun and making new friends. Cannabis has always been a great connector as we all know, and community is what we crave. What a blessing She is in our lives!

On the final Wednesday of each month we hold a virtual Club Swami Members Meeting on Zoom. This past Wednesday we gathered from all corners of the globe along with special guest Chiah Rodriques of Arcanna Flowers. Chiah shared her perspective of being born and raised, finding love, and raising a family of her own, right here in the Emerald Triangle. It was a warm and interactive experience for all who attended. Next month's meeting is already in the works!
May is also the month for us to find the winner of the Flower category of the Emerald Cup. Hence, we have spent hours in our regular spots on the couch (set and setting remain consistent and that's important) checking out 309 total entries in the six categories: Sungrown, Indoor, 3rd Party Certified, Mixed Light, Sungrown Greenhouse, and Personal.
We take this as a huge responsibility to find the best of the best and honor those growers who truly excel.
We will meet with the entire flower judging team of 20 at the start of June to make the final decision, and then announce them in August at The Emerald Cup awards ceremony in Oakland. We hope to see you there!
Many thanks to Colleen King and Leah Cerri (pictured bottom right) who are both certified Ganjiers and friends who came by to help us judge - These ladies know their stuff!
And last but not least, the end of May means it is Swami's birthday time and this year he turned 81 (or Eighty One-derful as one social media commenter put it!) - and had lots of FUN!

We created the main altar for the memorial of our dear friend Goa Gil and danced Swami's new year into being with pure joy. This was not your normal memorial - eighteen DJs played psychedelic trance beats for almost 30 hours under the sun and stars at AREA 101, here in Mendocino.

Swami can still kick up his heels with gusto - he claims it is the cannabis!

Peace and love to you all,
Swami & Nikki
