August certainly came in like Leo the Lion, strong and full of fun in the sun.
|
|
|
|
The days were hot yet as the month progressed, so did the humidity, until it felt like monsoon weather. The skies erupted in thunder and lightning several times in late afternoons, yet we were so blessed that none turned into forest fires in our area. Meanwhile, we continue to pray for our friends on Maui as well as parts of northern California, Oregon, Washington, and elsewhere that are burning.

We are thrilled to now have our flowers available at Cannadel in Santa Rosa, a great store with lots of selection and a friendly crew. We spent a lively day there training the budtenders about the wonders of Swami Select and specifically regenerative farming techniques.
|
|
|
|
It's so reassuring when the dispensary staff takes such a sincere interest in what we do and why we do it - so the consumer gets the best and purest cannabis available!
|
|
|
|
Swami went on to continue the teaching at another Ganjier session up at the campus in Humboldt. As we know, give Swami a good joint and a cup of coffee and he can lecture forever about terpenes, biological farming, the OG days of way back when, and more. The students seem to love it and several more graduated to become Certified Ganjiers this time around. Bravo!

Back at home, our farmer Harry won MVP in the final games of the local Laytonville softball league - way to go Harry! He can not only swing a bat and catch and throw a ball like no one I've ever seen, but he's a great farmer too!
|
|
|
|
Our plants are slowly reaching for the sun, moon and stars as they shoot up a bit more each day. Granted, they are smaller this year due to the late winter and hence the slow start, but we aren't worried as we've learned that smaller plants are more concentrated and pack a punch - plus it's never one of those "10-pound plants" that wins the Emerald Cup!

Some of the girls are just starting to flower, especially the Sphinx OG and Orange Turbo. Now it's time to start turning our thoughts to harvest, applying final compost teas, etc., and preparing the drying and curing areas. But before that starts, we'll be on the road a whole lot in September visiting stores and hosting Club Swami events in San Francisco and Los Angeles. So August was our month to literally get grounded here at the ranch, and watch all the different kinds of flowers bloom. Big Fun in the Summer Sun!

Club Swami members will be meeting in person again at the end of September for TWO unique gatherings in San Francisco and Los Angeles for allocation pickup and a fun community get-together and smoke sesh.
|
Club Swami members can also look forward to receiving their share of the exclusive farm-favorite phenotype of Blue Samadhi, as well as an offering of Swami's favorite new rolling papers, and will have the option to add actual real-deal hand-rolled Swami Joints to their allocation!

We had a lovely visit this week from Michele Mitchell, the writer/director of “OG* (*Right Side of History, Wrong Side of the Law)” and Marie Arlo who is an Executive Producer. What incredible women!
We are honored to be featured in this film, due to come out in 2024. “OG*” is a feature documentary about the hippies, the hustlers, the advocates, the activists and—yes—the outlaws, the men and women who grew and smuggled cannabis out of California’s Emerald Triangle and changed our world forever. Of course, you never knew it, because if we’d talked about it, we’d go to prison but now that the Greed Rush is on and the same people who put us in jail are now putting us out of business.
OG growers are ready to talk!
