Winter solstice may still be 3 weeks away, but the cold season crept up upon us all of November. It started out with big storms, which knocked off the oak leaves so that now the trees are stark silhouettes across the sky. Big puddles and mushrooms of all kinds appeared everywhere! Brilliant blue skies and sunshine replaced the clouds by mid month and temperatures plummeted, so that now, at month's end, we are seeing temps in the twenties when we rise in the morning. Perfect weather for a walk with the animals!

While much of the season is spent indoors trimming the harvest and making warm meals, it is always time to party in these hills! The November gathering at AREA 101, the infamous home of the Emerald Cup up here in Mendocino, was just what we all needed. It's that moment in time when the local farmers come out of hiding after harvest to celebrate, before returning to hibernation for the winter. It's the chance to share stories of how your crop turned out and to share some with old friends. Along with some music, good food and general Mendo Merriment.

In preparation for the long dark winter, we upgraded our solar power system thanks to TJ from Got Solar 707. We now can actually run electric items we'd never even considered before and Swami won't be running out to turn on the generator when the power cuts out. Ah, while we truly appreciate our country life, a few modern touches sure are sweet!

We wrapped up the month with a visit with Genine Coleman, founder of Origins Council and a fountain of cannabis knowledge, on our monthly Club Swami Zoom. We'll be taking a break in December as our usual last Wednesday of the month Zoom will fall on New Years Eve, and resume on Wednesday, January 28th. Stay tuned!
