We are blessed in the Mendocino mountains of Northern California to experience Mother Nature's mantel of weather in all its glory. Just during this past month of February, it went from sunny pre-spring weather, to tremendous thunder and lightning storms followed by several days of falling snow, which finally melted in another round of heavy rain. Now we have returned to vibrant green hints of spring and sunshine surrounding us. Full circle in one month.

The rainstorms and snowy times gave us the opportunity to huddle inside next to the wood stove, cozy and calm, reserving food supplies as we never know how long until the road out will be clear enough to go to town for shopping. This year it was only two wonderful weeks of silence in our snow cave. Time for Swami to focus on the chakra meditation he has been developing for several years now, and for Nikki to quietly read, write and, no surprise, plan a few upcoming events.

As we enter our golden years, life becomes easier in so many ways. While certainly some new worries are with us, many of the old ones just don't seem important any longer. What is important is maintaining our loving relationships with family and friends around the globe, and thanks to the internet, that is possible, even from our remote corner of California. It is important to breathe fresh air and drink clean water and food, to get daily exercise both for body and brain, and to know that even from afar we can be helping out our planet and her people in the ways we can.

It is a joy every month to connect with some of you via our Club Swami Zoom, and our enlightening discussion this week with the brilliant master of cannabis medicine making, Harry Rose, was a treat indeed. Next month we will welcome the master of live rosin, Nikka T, and we hope to see you there (details below).

It has become clear to us over the decades of life, that one of our primary duties in this lifetime is to connect people. It's like we are bees spreading pollen and then we sit back and watch the flowers blossom.

Back by HIGH demand, The Mendo Cup returns in 2026 with the same spotlight on the county's committed sungrown cannabis farmers, and the culture that blooms from their hard work and dedication to craft quality and regenerative practices.

There are THREE ways that YOU may be able to be involved!

- Enter The Mendo Cup as a competitor! The Mendo Cup is the only cannabis competition that we know of that redistributes the profits from the event back to the farmers! It is easy to enter for anyone who holds a CA license for cultivation, grew a full-term outdoor crop from which the entry was derived, has 10k sq. ft. or less of canopy, and is practicing regenerative farming methods. There is a great group of judges ready to saavor your anonymous entry to show the world that Mendocino and the Emerald Triangle still produce the highest and best rendition of this amazing plant that we all love.
- Sign up as a sponsor or as a vendor for the public Mendo Cup Awards and celebration in Willits, CA on May 3rd, 2026. This is a grassroots effort put on by a team of highly qualified volunteers. The farmers who enter The Mendo Cup will benefit from all event profits.
- Attend The Mendo Cup Awards and Celebration on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 at the Willits Grange in Willits, CA. Space is VERY limited for adults 21+, tickets are selling FAST already, and there will be NO ticket sales at the door the day of the event. So be sure to visit the Mendo Cup website to get your seat at the table with some of Mendo's best farmers for this community celebration.
