After a cold, wet spring here in the hills of Mendocino County, summer certainly has arrived. The exceedingly rare weather we experienced early in the season led to a slow start for our 2022 gardens but we know that come fall, those plants will be laden with flavorful, potent buds from a sweet variety of hand-selected cultivars.
|
We are ever thankful for the eager and dedicated farmers that help us maintain our gardens, especially in these summer months when we have many opportunities for meet n’ greets, in-store appearances, speaking engagements, and more.
|
|
At the root of cannabis culture is community, and our cannabis community here in Mendocino County is still strong, and even stronger when we come together. This was on divine display at our inaugural Mendocino Craft Farmers Auction held at the breathtaking Brambles event venue in Philo, California on July 16th.
|
|

Our next stop was the California State Fair where cannabis was proudly displayed alongside other traditional agriculture for the first time in history!

As official ambassadors for this amazing merger with the mainstream, we were so grateful to be given the time and opportunity to speak on the core values of our own farm as well as those shared by our fellow sungrown regenerative farmers.

During the two-week-long expo that saw upwards of 120,000 attendees, Swami was nominated as “Most Supportive Male in California Cannabis” in the Women’s Canna Cup. Wow, what an honor!
|

From the state capitol, we made our way to Tahoe Wellness Center for an in-store appearance with Cody and the crew at one of Cali’s finest cannabis dispensaries.

|
|
Revered for their friendliness, thoughtfulness, and for always having the good stuff, we are so proud of how Tahoe Wellness Center has grown and we are proud to be featured on their shelves.
|
The month concluded with the final Laytonville Cannabis Famers Market of the summer. Though life’s circumstances caused us to miss a couple of these events, we are so happy to see our fellow farmers dealing directly to the folks who truly love to support them. This is how it ought to be. More dispensaries. More farmers' markets. More cannabis events. Eternal thanks to the Mendocino Producers Guild for their tireless efforts on these markets and so much more.
